Local classes

Movement Classes

For November, I will be running sessions outdoors for two reasons. Firstly, I really dislike being cold. However, my best memories come from challenging myself and helping each other along the way. The biggest challenge will be committing to stepping out the doors, no matter the weather condition. Secondly, it’s refreshing to be outdoors, so dress warmly!

Classes begin on November 9th, 2021 for 4 weeks, Tuesday 6:30 pm – 8 pm. These sessions will be nomadic but within the University of Toronto St. George Campus. Locations will be announced closer to the date.

We will develop our physical strength, mobility, coordination along with using the built environment in these sessions.

Please message me for more details to attend.

Starting on August 30th, 2021 for 6 weeks on Mondays and Thursdays 6:30 pm – 8 pm @ Philosopher’s Stage at Philosopher’s Walk https://goo.gl/maps/Zt5yx1PeEhkttosMA (1 minute from Museum station/Green P nearby).

Some of the principles we touch upon: Moving outside, we explore unpredictable conditions such as uneven surfaces, dirt, and obstacles to overcome. Catching a ball at the peripherals of our vision or balancing on the ledge of a concrete wall, we expand our senses. Develop our physical strength, mobility, and question our existing movement patterns.

During these 6 weeks, expect to gain more mobility and strength but also discover general principles of movement that will serve you for the years to come. Be part of a community of people who enjoy challenging themselves and each other.

All levels welcome.

Please message me for more details to attend.

Introduction to Movement

Ever wonder what it means to move with absolute freedom.. Yeah I know a bit over the top right? I agree. But if you could start going in that direction… would you?

This course is designed for those who want to move better, no matter if your day to day is bound to an office or if you’ve had interest in the movement culture for years.

You can expect to develop a better relationship with your body and learn tools that will be applicable to improve both your daily life and your movement practice. Some subjects covered include locomotion and acrobatics, physical preparedness, l’art du déplacement/parkour, irregular strength work and new pattern learning. The material is largely influenced by Ido Portal.

This will not be a “nice” experience only as you will be exposed to a full-educational process. Bring your notebooks, pens and expect to take notes. Same as you did in school but this time, with movement. Homework will be given.

Let’s open your eyes to your extraordinary potential in a world where we’re encouraged to stay within the lines.
